I feel very fortunate to be able to return next week to Santa Barbara to give a guest lecture on one of my chapters for my new book project on the Asia-Pacific War. I can’t believe it has been ten years since I got my PhD at UCSB!
Check out Japan in the Long 1940s: A New History, a workshop sponsored by the USC East Asian Studies Center. The workshop will be held this Friday December 3rd. There will be 8 scholars presenting their research and Sabine Frühstück (UCSB) and Laura Hein (Northwestern) will be the discussants. You can register to attend via zoom.
I will be presenting my paper: “SPY! The Battle of Okinawa and the Legacy of Espionage: The Real Secret Agents, Executed “Traitors,” and the Hunt for the Enemy Within”
Here is the lineup for next academic year’s EASC New Book Series: Modern Japan at USC (on Zoom) organized by Professor Benjamin Uchiyama. Register here. I was fortunate to present Lost Histories in the inaugural series in Fall 2020.
